Chris Dudley's Statement on Trail Blazers' Future in Portland

OREGON —  Today, gubernatorial candidate and former Portland Trail Blazer Chris Dudley released the following statement with regards to the Trail Blazers’ future in Portland.

“No one is more committed to ensuring the Blazers remain and succeed in Portland indefinitely than me. But a public-private partnership should mean just that - a partnership. Before the Governor and legislature cuts a check to renovate the Moda Center, I want to know how much the new owner is investing in the arena, how long he is legally committing to keep the team in Portland, how much the city is investing to renovate the building they own and whether the benefits of building a new arena versus a renovation has been thoroughly analyzed. Doing this right and in the light of day is more important than doing this fast, behind closed doors - and wrong,” said Chris Dudley.
